The Napier tartan was first recorded in the Clans Originaux in 1880, and then again in 1906 in ‘Tartans of the Clans & Septs of Scotland’ by W & A.K. Johnston. However, the Napier tartan in the Highland Society Collection has a slightly different pattern to these other versions.
