Kisimul Castle: Clan MacNeil coat of arms
On 27 May 1915, these arms were matriculated in name of Robert Lister Macneil of Barra as Chief of the Name and Arms of Macneil. An American, Macneil bought the Barra estate some years later in 1937 and was responsible for the restoration of the chiefly stronghold of Kisimul Castle. He died in 1970.
