A judge of the post revolutionary regime, with the title of Lord Newbyth and also a baronetcy. This passed on to William Baird who’s second son, David became one of the leading generals of the Napoleonic Wars.
John Logie Baird (1888-1946)

The Pioneer of television. Born in Helensburgh in Dunbartonshire, he was educated at Glasgow University. He broadcast the first television transmission in 1926 from an attic and continued his pioneering work until his death in 1946, including the first transatlantic transmission in 1926.
