Origin of Name: From place name Burnhouse is “Burnis”, or topographic name for an individual who lived by a stream.
Lands: The Scottish / English Borders. Burns had territories in the eastern Border marches of in East Teviotdale.
Associated Names Burns was a Clan in it’s own right but is also considered a sept of Clan Campbell.
